D.R.E.A.M. Arts

Creativity has the power to transform, improve, and revolutionize our children.  Children increase their artistic knowledge, skills, and creativity while enhancing emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development as they participate in fine arts. They also are more likely to develop a “love and appreciation of the arts” when they are exposed to art at a young age.  At the Family D.R.E.A.M Center we understand that need for children.  We offer various fine art classes ages 3 years and up.

DREAM Arts offers various fine art lessons/workshops:

Piano lessons

Guitar lessons

Voice lessons

Art classes/workshops

Drama classes/workshops

Family D.R.E.A.M Center’s DREAM Art has partnered with amazing artists to provide our students with a diverse exposure to the many art styles.

Dream Art offers workshops every other Friday night. Each workshop is a 2 hour, fun-filled experience that educates and exposes the student to a particular style of art, the history behind it, and how to execute the style through a fun project.

DREAM Music

In our DREAM music program, we offer both group and private piano lessons, group and private guitar lessons, and group and private voice lessons. We offer lessons from the small toddler to adults.

Our group class curriculum is fun and is geared to develop a solid theory foundation so the students can learn to play any instrument successfully. Piano is the basis of all instruments, including our natural instrument, the voice; in fact, many band directors encourage students to have at least 2-3 years of piano before beginning band in the 6th grade.  At the Family Dream Center, we notice as piano and voice teachers that vocal students learn songs quicker when they have studied piano.

Students are comfortable playing in front of others in our group classes and build long-lasting friendships.  We offer music classes for all ages, including, our Mommy and Me music class, our 3-4 yr. old music class, all types of group lessons by ages, and private lessons.  Private lessons are beneficial as they allow the student to develop individual strengths and weaknesses on a more personal level.

Piano lessons at Family Dream Center will encourage and help the student to:

  • Develop Sight-Reading and Note Recognition

  • Develop Music Theory knowledge and Ear Training

  • Develop Rhythm Skills

  • Improve Hand and Eye Coordination

  • Sharpen Memory and Mental Alertness

  • Improve Concentration

  • Develop Improvisation Skills

  • Learn how to improvise, read chord charts, and write original compositions

  • Become accustomed to the feeling of achievement

  • Build Confidence and overcome shyness

Voice lessons at the Family Dream Center will encourage and help the student to:

  • Develop proper breathing techniques

  • Learn to sing on pitch and hear when student is off pitch

  • Increase vocal range and stamina

  • Build confidence and overcome shyness

  • Learn how to write original songs and receive input from original songs

  • Gain confidence to perform in front of an audience

  • Help discover the artist voice within the student

  • Understand basic music history and theory

These are just a few reasons why music lessons are beneficial to your child’s development and success.   Music lessons can be a lifelong asset to your child.  Music lessons will give your child a skill he/she can carry into adulthood and even into old age.  An eighty year old can derive just as much pleasure as a six year from playing a beautiful song on the piano.

If you want to give your child a head start in life, you may want to consider the considerable advantages of music lessons. You'll be rewarded when your child fills your home with beautiful music.  Studies show that children learning to play a musical instrument develop and sharpen their cognitive skills and score higher on intelligence quotient tests than those who did not receive training.

DREAM Vocal Group Classes Offered

5-7 Year Olds Voice

Voice class for 6 & 7-year olds will involve introductory vocal training to develop the singing voice.  We will focus on vocal warm-ups that involve singing with proper vocal techniques, hearing and matching pitches, ear-training, and sightsinging in solfege through the Kodaly method (which means students will learn to read music by using “do, re, mi, … and hand signs).  This method has been proven to promote better understanding and memory of pitch recognition.  We teach actual note names, note values, rhythm concepts, harmonization, and students will have an opportunity to write their own music.  The class will sing together as a group (which will build self-confidence in each student), but also do some solo work for each other.  This is a great class for beginning vocal students to learn to sing properly from the beginning in a fun way, make friends, learn from each other, and build confidence to perform for any size audience.
